This incredible perfume was designed by Ernest Daltroff, who was co-proprietor with Felicie Vanpouille of Caron Paris. Before 1920s, manufacturers used the same bottles. But Caron wanted to create a bottle unique for this wonderful new perfume, so Vanpouille designed a bottle that would stand out from all the rest of the perfumes on the market. This perfume was such a raging success that not only did other pefumers copy the fragrance but they copied the bottle, as well. Caron immediately began to patent their bottles, and other companies followed suit. Caron was in the courts for years about copyright infringement on their designs.
Caron was founded in 1903 by Ernest Daltroff. Fascinated by scent, he purchased a perfumery in Asinieres, near Paris, France. He also bought out a shop owned by Anna-Marie Caron and kept the name, thinking that it would sound better for the business. In 1904, Daltroff met a young dressmaker, Felicie Vanpouille. She became his lover and an active business partner, taking over the design and packaging of the Caron products. 1939 brought the threat of war and Daltroff, a Jew, left Paris for Canada. After Daltroff's death in 1941, Vanpouille became the sole owner of Caron.
The fragrance is a blend of Orange blossom, bergamot, petitgrain, lemon, rose, jasmine, jonquil, Persian black narcissus, musk, civet, and sandalwood. And I have to say it is the best scent I have ever smelled.
This is a 1 1/4 oz size bottle and stands about 2" tall and has no damage. There is a label that has some wear that matches the label on the box. There is also a label on the bottom of the bottle that says it is 1.23 oz. The bottle is glass and the stopper is black glass with a flower on top. A little more 1/2 full of original perfume. This is a great addition to your collection!

This is a legendary Avon fragrance, and has a serious following through the years. People who were exposed to this young, still wear it regularly. I was exposed to Emeraude and Shalimar when I was young, and so those are my go to scents. But I understand that if you wore this when young, you would go on wearing it. It is a beautiful perfume and let's face it, cheap. What a great bargain for a beautiful perfume. I smell vanilla and powder and florals. Great warm weather perfume!
This is new and unused. Try it, you will like it.

New in box and outer clear plastic box. It says it is Eau de parfum, but parfum is everything less than 83% alcohol, so this is really parfum. I have had this for 4 years and never opened the package to smell the perfume. I think I bought it at a busy time and never got around to smelling it. I knew nothing about the perfume when I bought it so I just didn't think it was going to be something I loved.
My first whiff was reminiscent of something. Didn't know what. I put some on my wrist and let it sink in for a few minutes. I kept saying it is familiar. And then it hit me. Balenciaga's Rumba! But without the heavy, overpowering strength. I smelled it again, and said, no, that is not it. And then I thought, Leonard Balahe! Another perfume I wore for years. Needless to say it is wonderful. It is similar to two of my favorite perfumes. But Revolution is smoother, more feminine and less obnoxious than Rumba or Balahe. White florals, fruit and incense. Absolutely exquisite!
